New Roof and Interior Renovation of a Historic Catholic Church in Berwick, Louisiana

Plus One worked with the Designer to implement the Architectural process from Design Development to Construction Documents and Bidding/Permitting. Also selected as the General Contractor, Plus One managed the complete renovation including cast-stone windowsill repairs, a full building soft wash, and metal roof replacement. The roof replacement was necessary due to years of wear and recent storm damage causing water intrusion throughout the structure, especially around windows and doors. The first challenge of the interior renovation included repositioning the structural integrity of the church. Destroyed through termite damage, the Plus One Team removed and replaced one of the primary structural arches. The interior renovations further required removing all granite and liturgical furnishings before millwork repairs, terrazzo refinishing, and painting could begin. The pew kneelers and existing murals were refinished, and the existing light fixtures were replaced.
